Everyone knows that Rome wasn't built in a day; the same goes for Vinorage. Thus, there's a whole story that leads up to the success Vinorage has today – from the tale of entrepreneurial dreams and great ideas to the viral hit Vinorage would later turn out to be. In this section, we'll take you through key moments in Vinorage's history, which have helped to create what the brand is today – a carefully considered design that has captured the attention of any wine lover.
The start of Vinorage
Great ideas often blossom out of a need for a solution to a problem. This is also true when it comes to Vinorage's take on wine storage. The idea behind the in floor wine cellars made out of stainless steel sprang from a house renovation, where one of the owners realised he needed a wine cooler – a priority his wife didn’t quite agree with, as it would take up space in the kitchen. So, a problem arose: a desire for wine storage but a lack of space. The search for a solution was the start of Vinorage’s adventure. One idea led to another, and then to the first prototype of an in floor wine cellar and the beginning of an entrepreneurial venture with great potential. In 2017, Vinorage thus came to be at a small workspace in northern Denmark, where the wine cellars are designed and manufactured.
Honoured as entrepreneurs
It didn’t take long before the two owners behind Vinorage were honoured for their entrepreneurial spirit by their local municipality. In 2018, they were named "Entrepreneur of the Year 2018". There was no doubt that people were starting to discover the potential of in floor wine cellars – and the question was, how big could it become?
International dreams
In 2019 the owners of Vinorage were ready to unlock a new dream: spreading their innovative wine cellars beyond Denmark. They wanted to make it possible for people abroad to furnish their homes with the latest trend in Danish design – an in floor wine cellar.
A viral hit
Also in 2019, Vinorage became one of the hottest topics in Denmark. A news report made them a viral hit overnight. The famous TV2 Nord video garnered thousands of comments and millions of views, as people clamoured for an in floor wine cellar from Vinorage.
Today
Since its beginning, Vinorage has been nominated for several awards in entrepreneurship and design. In addition, the company has grown both in size and staff.
